John Partain (South Carolina)
John grew up in a small community where he enjoyed the outdoors and was involved with Boy Scouts in which he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. During his scouting years he learned life lessons that still resonate with him. John started working for Sunbelt Rentals in 2004 as a semi-truck driver. In 2013 he moved into an equipment rental specialist position which was followed in 2017 with a promotion to his current role as safety trainer covering South Carolina and parts of North Carolina and Georgia.
John has been on and around equipment since being a teenager and feels his deep knowledge of equipment helps him convey how to use it safely. This starts with an understanding of how the equipment works and its intended use. Customers appreciate the real-life experiences John shares in the classroom and his ability to convey the importance of safety to his students. He is certified to train MEWP, forklift, and earthmoving equipment operator certification courses in addition to Fall Protection User Awareness, Scaffold User Awareness, Rigging & Signaling for Cranes, and Train the Trainer courses for MEWPs and forklifts.
In addition to spending time with his wife and four children, John enjoys hunting, archery, and camping. He recently started cycling and has plans to gravel race and bike pack with his sons. John is a volunteer firefighter and has held various roles in the fire department where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board. He and his family are active members of Asaville Baptist Church.
