This virtual classroom training and hands-on practical evaluation allows students to obtain the necessary knowledge and skills required to operate backhoes and compact excavators safely. Upon successful completion of the virtual classroom theory and final written exam, students must successfully complete the in-person hands-on practical evaluation to receive operator certification.

- Responsibilities as a user and operator
- Conducting a pre-start inspection
- Conducting a workplace inspection
- Various types of equipment
- Safe operation
- Preventing accidents and identifying hazards in operation
Please complete your practical evaluation within 90-days from the completion of the virtual training.
